This coloring page is full of action, except it happens to be a coloring page, as little Sonic dodges razor-thin laser beams that cross one another in a high-tech lab. The rampant twists at the waist, one foot caressing a tiled floor as wall emitters, mirrors, warning chevrons and cable conduits outline the pursuit. The stark lines are clear and solid enough that there is nothing to bleed together, with all of the elements, Sonic, beams, emitters, cracked tile and drifting sparks all distinctly separated. Its simple border is placed on a white ground in the vertical A4 format, and the movement is created with speed lines and scattered remnants but not clutter. The scene lures your eye into the labyrinth of traps to show where Sonic escapes offering not only quick coloring activities but also much more complex shading or glow effects.
Coloring How to Make sonic royal blue on quills/back and peach/tan on muzzle, inner ears and arms. Gloves--bright white, cool-gray folds; shoes--deep red with crisp white strap, with light-gray on edge of sole. Smilingly green eyes with a small white dot. Color laser beams neon red or magenta: keep a core color white, then fade to pink then wash out in the end blue-gray halo glow; Add a thin rim-light around the edges of the quills and shoes where the beams go through. Metalize emitters--cold grays that are very shiny white and a bit darker in between. Tiles: pale-grey and darker-coloured cracks; hazard chevrons black/yellow; cables dull reds and blues. Cut marker flats, add shadow detail with colored pencils and add tacky style edge-of-beams and shiny metal touches with a white gel pen.
