This coloring page depicts the Sonic and Blaze the cat racing together in a very dangerous field of lava. Volcanic peaks with jagged rocks poke out of the earth, rivers of molten rock seem to drip out the fissures, and eruption flares in the distance. The two characters are shown in mids-step with their decisive faces encircled by speed lines and flames emitting out of their feet. The details of the volcanoes are dramatic, yet they do not distract the attention of the viewers. The simple clean lines between Sonic, Blaze, and the rocky track plus the molten rivers set out to be an individual line that would be easy to fill in. The standard A4 is a vertical format with its boundaries framed, but with a plain white background which can be easily colored in any shade, or with imaginative shading, depending whether you want a bit of instant frivolity, or atmospheric glow effects.
The colour of Sonic is intended to be bright royal blue, with peach/tan on the muzzle and inner ears and arms; gloves are white, with soft cool-gray folds; shoes are dark red, with white strap and light-gray soles; eyes are live green. Blaze has soft lavender fur and cream muzzle and chest, and gold eyes as well as a magenta dress with purple cuffs and trims; her boots as white and pink accents. The lava streams must be tinted with a white hot core, to be merged to bright yellow, then orange and lastly deep red at the limits and the surrounding rocks must reflect the same in lighter colors. Rocks may be either black or dark gray with orange spots in the areas hit by the light of lava. The sky may be reddish below the horizon (smoky orange), whereas above it can be dark red-brown, or purple.
