Sonic Battling Dr. Eggman’s Robot
📇 Print Page

Here, in this dramatic coloring page, one sees Sonic in medium of battle with one of the giant combat robots of Dr. Eggman. Sonic rushes forward in a strong attack and the enormous mech extends a metal appendage with cogs and pistons showing. Broken joints dance fire, smoking vents huff and Eggman is visible in the cockpit, snarling down at him. Metallic paneling, hazard stripes and debris, in its turn, fill the frame with tense lighting but do not overcrowd it. Clear lines are brawny enough to render everything manageable even the smallest details: Sonic, robot, Eggman, and effects. The simple vertical A4 format is used on a white background with large open spaces to fill smoothly and plenty of small mechanical details to allow greater advancement in shading and texture work.

The question of how to color is discussed. Sonic ought to be clear royally blue with peach/tan muzzle, inner-ears and arms; gloves bright white in which the folds are cool-gray; shoes dark red in which the strap is cleanly white, and sole is light-gray. The robot may either be steel gray, gunmetal or dark silver with hazard-yellow and black stripe on some panels. The back gears are fairly likely to be bronze or gold in contrast, and wires are bright reds, blues or greens. Sparks must have a white stem in the middle fading to bright yellow and orange, and also they must have a little light of the sparks that come out on the surrounding metal surface. Eggman has a red suit with black trousers, yellow buttons and white gloves; his glasses may be light blue coloured. The background panels are satisfactory with the signals on hazards in yellow and black. And end with a white gel pen to add glow to metal edges, ring sparkle and polish in the eyes of Sonic.
