Rhino Walking Through Dense Jungle Shade

Here the stillness of a single rhino is reduced into a rhino colouring page which goes steadily through the dark coloration of a thick jungle. Enclosed in a curtain of superimposed leaves, climbing vines, ferns, and high tree trunks, the rhino is the centrepiece of a picture full of natural detail. The robust looking of its body, heavy folds of the skin, and the number of horn, are traced with bold clean lines, and will readily be coloured, but yet leave space to shade and bring out texture. The thick jungle foliage overhead also forms areas of light and shadow and gives the background a dimension without being too distractive of the subject. The path that the rhino follows is framed by large leaves, with the smaller scale added by smaller vegetation and textures on the ground. The composition is balanced in complexity and open space, pleasing both amateurish colorists, and those people who appreciate realistic shading. This page is calm and possesses the ambiance and captivating design that encourages creativity and a greater understanding of jungles animals.

🎨 How to Color
Begin by filling in the rhino with grays, warm pudgey colors, or any other slate color. Apply a darker shade on the belly and legs and the behind of the horn so as to make the horn look heavy and full. Lighten the colors on the top of the back (and the head) to indicate the sunlight popping through the canopy. In the jungle shade, apply the deep greens, olive colours and dull brown colours to depict thick shrubs. Shadowed areas are darker in shade with the use of darker greens and light leaves are taken with light greens. add a sun-yellow-green where the light (Tabushi 1). Barks can be pattered with brown and deep greys and small strokes can be blended in to give a pattern to the vines and tree trunks. So as to make it more three dimensional, darken the backgrounds behind the rhino and beneath its feet so to speak, to give the rhino a ground. You can have a dramatic appearance, too, by applying in shaded areas of the foliage some soft fusion of cool blues or deep greens. Add small highlights at the end in order to bring the scene to reality.
