Jaguar Walking Beside Ancient Jungle Wall

This illustration shows a strong jaguar running swiftly through an old wall in the jungle with its spotted fur in contrast with the crumbling blocks of stone and vines. The sharp lines of the body and the alert eyes with a confident walk of the jaguar make it the centre of the picture, as the back wall of the ancient wall is an indication of forgotten civilization that is slowly being eroded away by nature. The visibility of the stone surface is enhanced by carved symbols, cracks and mossy textures that provide the surface with a rich texture and a contrast with the organic forms of leaves, roots, and hanging vines. The walkway is surrounded by wide plants and stratified leaves which provide not only depth to the page but also the atmosphere. Clear sharp edges make beginning artists have no trouble colouring easy, but the fine fur textures, stone surface patterns, and layers of plant life on the animal still keep the more expert colorists challenged. The piece is a combination of wildlife, history, and a vivid tropical feeling, as well as providing a relaxing, immersive, and pleasing colouring experience.

🎨 How to Color
Open with the fur of the jaguar with pleasant golds, deep yellows, or tawny browns. Apply darker shade to legs, belly and neck in order to depict muscle and depth. Spots should be deeply colored with black or dark brown taking care not to leave the edges dirty. In the case of the ancient wall, greys, sandy browns or even mossy-greens are to be used, shading them into cracks and around outlines, to make them show age and weather. Put in some green overtones that will indicate moss or creeping plants. The surrounding foliage should be in different shades of green, emerald, olive, lime, where some of the leaves should be darker and where sunlight reaches the leaves, they should be lighter. The earthly brown and dulled green can be used on the vines and roots. Suppose that the scene gives an impression of sunlight, fade warm yellow or gold on the edges of the leaves and stones. To be realistic insert a shadow under the jaguar and on the base of the wall. Adding background colour saturation to make the jaguar visible enough, as the centre of attraction in the jungle.
