This coloring page is a fun activity and depicts a very thrilling scene of two excited children running amidst a dense forest full of magic and wonders in search of a wily leprechaun. The little pot of gold is thrust under the arm of the leprechaun, which is dashed forward as the leprechaun legs it away with a wicked grin over his shoulder. The children, the minds of which are full of curiosity and (determination), swerve between pedestal trees, overturn down-twisted roots and shamrocks lying here and there around the forest. Magical details are everywhere in the forest- shining mushrooms, glittering patches of clover, little creatures of the wood seeing out of the bushes. Bright rays of sunshine come through the canopy of trees and it peels the light through the trees leading the children further into the forest. There is much movement and even mystery in the scene, which makes one feel an adventure in the middle of nature.
The green background of the forest can be done in different shades and mix greens bringing out the trees and the distant wood in detail with some dark greens and the near front shrubs with lighter green. Paint the outfit of the leprechaun with conventional green, with gold or yellow coloration of his buckles and the pot of gold. All the garments of the children may be painted in joyful, sunny colors like blue, yellow or red in order to pop out against the forest. Use lighter stains on the tree trunk and utilize darker stains around the roots and the shady bit. One can make the mushrooms and details in the forests bright red, purple and orange. Put in golden yellow spots where the sun is filtering through the trees and gently gray shadows at the base of the characters and trees to put the emphasize on deepening the two dimensional scene and giving it a sense of motion.
