This is an adventure coloring page that portrays two mischievous children in a crowded forest in their quest to retrieve a hidden treasure left by the leprechaun. One child looks intently at a tattered treasure map and the other person shouts and points enthusiastically at a little pathway made of stones that goes farther into the woods. Two-leaved clovers and wild mushrooms are scattered on the ground and behind the trunk of a tree a small wooden chest with a shamrock engraved on its lid protrudes to the same degree as to suggest in a sentence that there is treasure to be found in that forest. There are also some twisted branches and climbing vines in the backdrop to further create an atmosphere of mystery. Either one or two animals of the forest observe in silence out of the shadow, adding a feeling of enchantment and discovery. The scene is full of expectancy and it brings the feeling of an Irish folktale hunt of treasures.
Paint the forest with different shades of green but darker on the background to get the effect and brighter on the foreground plants. Paint the garments of the children in vibrant different colors like blue, red or yellow so as to make them visible. To color the treasure chest, the rich browns with the touch of gold or yellow can be used to paint the shamrock symbol in it and the coins that stick out of the chest. Apply brown colors to the bark of the trees and the old stone pathway and to introduce some texture and shadows, there should be darker tones. Soft reds, pinks and yellows can be used to color mushrooms and flowers so that there are some pops of color. Apply a light blue on whatever is visible of the sky or gap in the background and add slight shadows below the children and trees to get hues of depth and adventurism.
