Pilgrims Harvesting Wheat
šŸ“‡ Print Page

The Pilgrims Harvesting Wheat page is a beautiful illustration of the theme of gratitude, labour and the bounty of the harvest of the Thanksgiving storey. It portrays Pilgrims picking squat wheat in the warm autumn sun and showing field acres all the way to the horizon, with baskets full of golden wheat. This painting makes us remember the industriousness and thankfulness of the early settlers to the gifts of the nature. The page is a cosmoglyph of history and creativity and one of the most interesting imaginations to realise the spirit of Thanksgiving by children and adults. The fact that it is well drawn and evenly balanced renders its use to any level of skill. During the process of coloring, visualize the relaxing rhythm of the harvest season- the soothing swaying of the harvest and the crisp coolness of autumn as well as the ecstasy of the community. This page can be used in or created during a hobby that would be great in siblings art sessions or one that happens periodically, during a classroom adjustment or project, or just because most aspects of nature are beautiful and easy to appreciate.

How to ColorĀ
Start with warm gold yellows and soft dark browns of wheat field covering colors one on top of other to make sense of the texture and leeway. The clothes of the Pilgrims may consist of earth colours, including dark blues, greys, and browns, and white and black to decorate the hats and collars in a traditional manner. The sky has to be pale blue or even light orange with a slight amount of gradation to indicate a sunny afternoon. Stain the baskets with tan and dark brown, and light tints of green in the background to represent far off fields. So that the scene will become alive, generously mix shadows under the figures and spread light yellows on the wheat ends. When coloring on a computer, textured brush is to be applied in order to replicate the appearance of the straw. It is aimed at being warm and harmonious, full of the gratefulness and unanimity that distinguish the spirit of Thanksgiving as a harvest.
