📇 Print Page

The lovely coloring page is a cluster of little, bell-esque lily-of-the-valley flowers that are arching upon their thin stems with each of them detailed well enough to allow any pearly whites or light pastels. Aribbling ribbon runs in and out of, and around, the floral spray, the sinuosity of its curves and the convolutions of its folds forming a contrast to the lightness of the flowers. Edges of the ribbon are drawn in soft scallops, creating space to give smooth gradients or opaque, solid fills that may cause it to look like satin or sheer. At the base, wide lance shaped leaves spread out, with prominent veins and gently serrated edges giving the further surfaces on which to cast shades in texture. The negative space between the stems and ribbons of the loops allows for preparing a small motif, one of the drops of dew or entwined tendrils to which you can apply a slight accent or personal finishing touches. With a traditional mix of white and green giving the lilies such design your ribbon, as well as having a striking colored combination, or having more unusual color combination, this design is concentrated in mixing soft washes and delicate detail, creating the flowing music of flowers as they play out with the delicate flow of the ribbon.
