To have a classic and vibrant appearance, warm and bright colours should be used. Begin with Foxy--a rusty red-orange the colour of his fur, bright yellow the colour of his teeth and hook, and black and white the colour of his eye patch and snout. Pop the Pirate props along with applying darker colours to the wooden barrels and leaving the coiled ropes a natural tan. Or the curtains may be heavy royal red or purple to show the scene in dramatic perspective. Then remember the stage light, but colour it up, make it a very warmed-up yellow, to pass the illusion of a powerful, lensed yellow spotlight down on the cove. Further has to be filled in by using a darker tone on the colours forming the bases to make shadows behind the barrels, curves of the curtains and beneath the snout of Foxy. Lastly, use a white gel pen to place shinning highlights on Foxy hook, the contours of the barrels and on the rims of the stage lights as well so that your Pirate Cove looks sparkling!
