A hard working bee buzzes over a clump of sweet smelling lavender spikes, with its wings aflame, as on the scent of the sweet nectar of the violet blossoms.

📇 Print Page

In a friendly coloring page, a working bee is shown in mid air with its finely drawn wings represented as it falls singly toward a tall stalk of lavender. The narrow spikes are clearly depicted in smooth edges, with small and compact groups of buds forming a cone shape, ending up the end of the stem to trailing down the stem. Serrated, slot-like leaves, expanding in pairs beneath the blooms form a leafy base of the floweri show. The body of the bee is drawn in shapes of segmented stripes, feathery legs poised in anticipation of landing are fine details of the bee body, in addition to some lengthily shaped antennae. There is slight foliage with here and there a piece of lavender stems around the central motif, rounding out the background and leaving you free to add some soft washes of color or more complicated shades. The soft-purple-laced lavender, the silvery greens, or the bolder warm golds and blacks of the bee, are all yours to play with; a chance to consider the harmony of nature, both in shape and colour: and it is easy, with a crayon, pencil or marker to hand, to fill out every unfilled form.
